Privacy policy

ObjectFlow Offline for Android · Effective from 4 October 2026

In short

  • The app does not collect, transmit or share any of your data.
  • It has no Internet permission: it cannot send anything off the phone.
  • Camera images and videos are analysed on the device and are not stored.
  • Counting results stay on your phone until you delete them.
  • There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking tools.

1. What this policy covers

This policy describes how the ObjectFlow Offline application for Android ("the app"), identified by the package name com.objectflow.offline, handles information. It also covers this website.

2. What information the app uses, and why

All the information listed below is processed on, and stays on, your device.

Information What it is used for What happens to it
Camera images Detecting and counting objects live. Analysed in memory, frame by frame, and discarded. No photos or videos are saved.
Videos you choose Detecting and counting objects in a saved video. Read from where they are, without copying or modifying them. The app stores the reference to the file and its name with the session, plus a temporary thumbnail of the first frame used to place the line, which is replaced when you choose another video.
Counting results Showing the history and allowing export. Stored in the app's private storage: the date and duration of the session and, for each crossing, the time, the type of object, the direction, an internal tracking number, the detection confidence and the position in the image. No images of the objects are stored.
Settings Remembering your preferences. Counting line, region of interest, chosen classes, minimum confidence and performance mode. Stored in the app's private storage.
Diagnostic log Helping you identify a technical problem. A text file with the app's technical errors. It stays on the device and is not sent anywhere. You can view it from Settings.

The app does not identify people. It performs no facial recognition, reads no licence plates and builds no profiles. The tracking number it assigns to each object is internal and temporary, and only serves to avoid counting it twice within a single session.

3. What information is not collected

4. Permissions

Choosing a video, saving a file and sharing are done through Android's own system screens. The app only accesses the file or location you select each time.

5. Who the information is shared with

No one. The app transmits no data to the developer or to third parties, and there is no server to receive it.

The only way information leaves the app is when you yourself export or share a session's CSV files. In that case the files go to the app or location you choose (for example, a storage or messaging service), and from then on that service's privacy policy applies.

When you share, the app keeps a temporary copy of those two files in its own cache so it can hand them to the destination app. That copy is replaced the next time you share.

6. Retention and deletion

Because the developer receives no data, there is nothing the developer could look up, correct or delete on your behalf: control rests entirely with you, on your device.

7. Security

Data is stored in the private storage Android reserves for the app, which other applications cannot access. Its protection also depends on your device's own measures, such as the screen lock. Files you export are outside that protection.

8. Responsible use when filming

Filming people, or filming in certain places, may be regulated by the laws of your country or region. You are responsible for using the app in line with those rules and with the rights of the people who appear in the image.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data from any user, whatever their age.

10. Google Play and this website

11. Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects how information is handled, this page will be updated and the effective date changed. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's store listing.

12. Contact

For questions about this policy or about the app, you can open an issue in the website's GitHub repository.
